UNESCO World Heritage Sites

UNESCO stands for the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization. UNESCO World Heritage Sites are places deemed important by the United Nations for cultural or environmental reasons.

Some important sites in the U.S. include Everglades National Park in Florida, Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site in Missouri, Yosemite National Park in California, and the Statue of Liberty in New York, just to name a few.

A map directory displaying all of the UNESCO sites around the world can be found here. The webpage for each site contains information in multiple languages, along with maps of each site.
